Low and Slow

March came in like a lamb...and went our like a weakly cold little lion, but at least we still had spring break.  Ella and Sophia were back at a school and it was just the 4 of us home.  The opening weekend was pretty chill with everyone just relaxing...some much needed relaxation.  We continue to get Grace some driving time and even managed to work that into a stop at a cake decorating supply store while we were out and about.  Merrick has been enjoying his cooking course and offered to make home made pasta for us, a special and unexpected treat.  Early in the week Amy and Grace drove to Two Rivers to visit Jan at work and stop by the beach for a spring break beach vacation.  Merrick and I went to the shooting range instead and worked on our marksmanship.  Grace and I sneaked off to try a gyro, she was not impressed and I had to eat hers as well. I was able to get both Merrick and Grace to the climbing gym and although you can't climb with a phone there was some great mental images captured of them both logging some full sends on adjacent routes.  We all agreed that I was probably the third best in our group of climbers. The back half of the week found us in a clockwise circumnavigation of the state as we headed out early for Madison to tour the Campus at Merrick's request.  We logged plenty of steps before heading back to State street to grab some chicken strips and insomnia cookies and driving 'the gauntlet' up 94.  We drove to Rivercrest to pick up the Grandprize and his lady and headed to the confluence.  We had called ahead to Ella's' Work to say hello to her, eat some dinner, and give Grace the chance to make Ella wait on her...Grace enjoyed this aspect way more than Ella.  She is working a 'gastropub' with about 100 arcade games and we spent about an hour playing pinball, skee-ball, bubble hockey (although Grace claims Amy cheated), and some old school Tekken...where Merrick smoked my button-smashing strategy.  Up and at 'em for a UW-EC Campus tour and drop some stuff off for Ella at her apartment and then we headed home to prep for an Easter meal.  The whole TR clan showed up ham and bunny shaped dinner rolls that actually looked like bats.  Even though the older two weren't with us it was nice to know that they had places to celebrate the holiday too.  Ella was with her boy friends family and sent us a nice picture and Sophia had breakfast with Grandma Irene and Bob and Nancy.  Merrick, Amy, and Grace get to extend there break an additional day for the made up Easter Monday...but after a pretty good break I think they can use the down time.
