The middle Birthday

Sophia turns 17 which doesn't get you much, sandwiched between driving and adulthood.  There were gifts and then we headed up to Eagle River for a week at a Cabin.  The temps were a little cool for the adults to swim but it didn't seem to bother the kids too much and none of the adults really complained about not swimming.  The days were spent splashing in the water, fishing, hammocking and even sneaked in some Kubb.  The evenings were generally campfires and the kids made a ton of bracelets and did some body painting as well.  One of the cooler days was determined to be a race day and we headed into town for some go-kart racing and ice cream

Juneish....

With the summer upon us and the outside inviting we are finding varieties of activities.  The older two have been protesting the racial inequities in America and speaking their minds and wearing their masks.  There has been some violence but they are staying safe and marching during the day.  Merrick and Grace are staying closer to home with their activities.  Grace is baking almost daily and has become an accomplished cake decorator.  Merrick is mostly playing video games but he gets shagged out of the house every so often.  Today he decided to make a phone stand to hold his phone.  Grace and the older two are spending a lot of time long-boarding in the sun and catching plenty of sunsets. Merrick and Grace and I tend to hit the frolf course in the earlier morning hours and challenge eachother with trick shots for doughnuts, sometimes the beat is for a car or a kitchen aide if they get a hole in one.  We all headed to EC for a quick day trip to see Grandprize's Nappin' Cabin and take the curtains back to them.  The kids had decorated each of the curtains.  We sat in the sun with socially distanced hotdogs and great time.
